Conflict Profile:
The Conflict ProfileŽ presents a
dynamic of conflict possibilities, measuring behavior according to "assertive"
or "supportive" axes. It provides a model for better understanding five broad
conflict styles: Competition, Avoidance, Accommodation, Compromise and
Collaboration. Understanding which styles are appropriate in various
situations enables us to adapt our behavior and deal more effectively with
conflict.
Conflict is a natural obstacle,
inherent in almost any team effort. The Conflict Profile will help your team
members to recognize the various conflict styles and navigate smoothly through
an otherwise team-breaking situation.
This diagnostic tool helps individuals recognize the five styles of dealing with
conflict and identify their own natural approach. Participants evaluate ten sets
of five possible responses to conflict situations in a work setting. Results are
displayed graphically to reveal personal conflict style preferences.
